Event Details

Join us and challenge yourself to explore new titles or read something outside of your normal routine. The 2023 Read Widely challenge theme is Around the World. Our goal is to read titles that take us all over the globe–and maybe even some off-world titles!

Key Dates

January 1, 2023. Program begins.

December 16, 2023. Raffle tickets must be entered into drawings at the Reference Desk by 5:00pm.

December 20, 2023. Raffle winners will be contacted.

December 30, 2023. Last day to claim prizes at the Reference Desk.

How to Participate

Participants must be aged 18 years or older and have a valid Frankfort Public Library District library card.
Grab a Reading Log. You can pick one up at the Reference Desk, or click the link under Attachments to download and print a copy at home.
The Reading Log has 12 badges, each representing a different region of the world.
To earn a badge, you must read a book that is set in that region, features characters from that region, or was written by a person from that region. Please click the links below to view suggested titles for each badge.
When you finish reading a book, write the title under the corresponding badge on your Reading Log.
You may only earn one badge per book– you may not count the same book towards multiple badges.

Visit the Reference desk during business hours to claim your prizes!

Complete 1 badge and earn a choice of international candy and 1 raffle ticket.
Complete 5 badges and earn a choice of coupon to a local eatery and 1 raffle ticket.
Complete 10 badges and earn a choice of prize and 1 raffle ticket.
