Domestic Violence 102: “Why Don’t They Just Leave?” Trauma Bonding in Domestic Violence Survivors

Crisis Center of South Suburbia outreach staff will discuss Trauma Bonding and the effects of it in an abusive relationship. Trauma bonding is a chemical attachment that the survivor develops with their abuser, further entangling the survivor in the abusive relationship. In this presentation and discussion, you will learn how trauma bonding creates barriers for a survivor from leaving their abusive partner.
