Back for another year, try your best to scare our librarians with an original scary story!

Rules:

  • Entries must be an original scary story, written by students in Kindergarten-5th grade. No AI allowed for writing or illustrations.
  • Submit entries on 8 1/2”x11” printer paper only. Paperclip your story to your entry form. No staples or glue.
  • Word Count: K-2gr.: minimum of 50 words, 3-5gr.: minimum of 100 words
    • ** Word counts do not apply to comic style entries **
  • Invented spelling and dictation to an adult are welcomed.
  • We encourage illustrations!
  • Stories may be written by up to 4 co-authors.
  • Winners and runners-up will be announced on Facebook live and read at Spooky Storytime. If you do not want us to use your name, please let us know!
