Program Description

Event Details

Learn how to use the Glowforge software and laser cutting machine to create a simple acrylic keychain. All materials will be provided.

This class is designed for patrons who have never used Glowforge or who want to review basic skills.

Topics covered in this class will include:

  • Basic features of the Glowforge Software.
  • Adding graphics.
  • Adding and editing text.
  • Resizing, rotating and aligning design elements.
  • Grouping, ungrouping and outlining design elements.
  • Cutting a design.

Prerequisites: 

  • Patrons must know how to operate a mouse and keyboard.

Please Note:

  • Patrons will have the option to wait for their finished project (wait time may be up to 1 hour after class) or pick up their project from the library at a later date.
  • Laser cutters operate by burning through the material which will produce some odor. The odor on the finished product will fade over time.

In-Person to Virtual

If public health guidelines become more restrictive it may be necessary to change this program from in-person to virtual.  If this should happen, patrons will be notified in advance and provided with a Zoom link to attend the virtual program.
