In this 90-minute class, you will learn how to set up a free account with Gmail and about the basics of using email.

This class will cover the following topics:

  • Understanding the tools and applications needed to use email.
  • Creating an email account.
  • Email terms such as Draft, Attachments, Reply All, Forward, CC, and BCC.
  • Performing basic email functions including:
    • Logging into and out of an account.
    • Communicating through email.
    • Recognizing and dealing with spam.
    • Organizing and deleting email.
    • Searching for messages.
  • Keeping an email account safe.

If you have questions about problems with an existing email account or need help with topics other than those listed above, please register for one of our Tech Tuesday sessions for personalized assistance.

 

Prerequisites: 

  • Patrons must know how to operate a keyboard. 
  • Patrons must know how to operate a mouse or trackpad. 
  • Patrons must know how to use a web browser and find a website.
