Program Description

Event Details

This drum circle is about relaxing with easy rhythms and based on the Rhythms for Healing (TM) program approved for use in Veterans Administration facilities and by the Yoga Alliance. It includes a warm up period, a more rapid "cardio" period in the middle, and a relaxation period of drumming at the end. Each rhythm is taught on the body first at a slow tempo to help learn the rhythm, then taught on the drums. Dawn will also teach about various types of hand drums, the cultural origins of the rhythms, and the health benefits of drumming. You will have the opportunity to play with a variety of percussion instruments during the drum circle.

All drums provided; you do not need to bring a drum.
