Event Details
Join us to discuss a few thought-provoking titles about the interconnected relationship we have with our shared home, planet Earth. This group will span the months of February, March, and April leading up to the globally recognized Earth Day on April 22. Join us for as many sessions as you’d like!
Our April title is Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization by Bill McKibben. Energy from the sun and wind is suddenly the cheapest power on the planet and growing faster than any energy source in history -- if we can keep accelerating the pace, we have a chance for a new civilization, says McKibben. You can't hoard solar energy or hold it in reserves -- the star that fuels our world is available to all.
Series selections:
February Title: The Serviceberry: Abundance and Reciprocity in the Natural World by Robin Wall Kimmerer (2024)
March Title: Carbon: The Book of Life by Paul Hawken (2025)
- April Title: Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization by Bill McKibben (2025)
Print copies of each title are available at the Library's Circulation Desk one month in advance of each discussion. Here Comes the Sun: A Last Chance for the Climate and a Fresh Chance for Civilization is also available as an eBook through Boundless and as an eAudiobook through Hoopla.
