Join us to discuss Cultish: The Language of Fanaticism by Amanda Montell

What is it about cults that fascinates us? We devour stories of why and how people become involved in extremist groups and wonder if we could ever fall prey to the same fanaticism. Linguist Montell explores how many groups within our society, from the benign to the notorious, use language and practices that can be considered “cultish.” The key lies in recognizing this type of language and evaluating its influence in our lives.

Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk one month before the meeting date. eBook copies area available through Libby, Axis 360, and Hoopla, and eAudiobook copies are available through Hoopla with your Frankfort Library card.
