Join us to discuss The Country of the Blind: A Memoir at the End of Sight by Andrew Leland
As a teenager, Andrew Leland was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa, a progressive eye disease that leads to total loss of vision. Now a middle-aged husband and father, Leland faces his diminishing vision and explores what living with blindness will entail. His journey leads through history, advocacy, adaptive technologies, social and cultural attitudes and deeply personal ruminations on life without sight.
Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk one month before the meeting date. eAudiobook copies are available through Libby with your Frankfort Public Library District card.
