Join us to discuss The Night Tiger by Yangsze Choo
In colonial Malaysia in the 1930s, Ji Lin, a dressmaker’s apprentice who moonlights as a dancehall girl, comes into possession of a gruesome object left behind by one of her patrons–a preserved severed finger. A young boy, Ren, arrives in the area with a secret mission and a promise to fulfill to his recently deceased former master. He must locate his late master’s missing finger and return it to his grave before 49 days have passed, or his master’s soul will be lost. As Ji Lin and Ren’s paths draw closer together, a series of deaths in the area spark rumors of a were-tiger; a beast that can take human form.
