Join us to discuss The Swans of Harlem: Five Black Ballerinas, Fifty Years of Sisterhood, and Their Reclamation of a Groundbreaking History by Karen Valby.

Members of the 152 Street Black Legacy Council share their stories of their careers as ballerinas during the 1960s and 1970s. As dancers with the Dance Theater of Harlem they battled racism, colorism, and harassment while breaking barriers in the world of ballet.

Copies of the book will be available at the Circulation Desk one month before the meeting date. Ebook copies are available through Boundless with your Frankfort Public Library District card.
